This article looks a bit odd...[edit]

It seems like this article was copied straight out of Wikipedia. A lot of the links are dead, too, which points to this conclusion.

Agreed. This thing needs serious work. I'll do it when I've got the time.

Coming Second 11:04, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, it was, it was me that did it, just because I didn't think that it was necessary to create a new article from scratch, and I removed the majority of dead links, there were a lot of them.

Is Portal canon with HL?

Flash version[edit]

Would the flash version be a separate article, or on this article, or is it non-canon? TehPiGuy 15:23, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Of course it's not canon. I considered creating it, since I also created an article for Portal: Prelude. You could create it, but can you?... Klow 19:34, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Objects[edit]

What if we add objects after "Enemies" section ? --Aurum Oxyde 13:54, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Objects[edit]

  • Weighted Storage Cube
  • Weighted Companion Cube
  • ...
I don't think all that would be on it would be those two things. And they both are linked to here anyway.--YabbaMyIcing 17:22, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Spoilers[edit]

You're joking, right?... Klow 13:16, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

Just noticing[edit]

Anyone else notice that occasionally the test chambers will lose power for a second or two, then come back online? Well, while screwing around with a few cheats (Impulse 101 and Noclip), I noticed when you shoot at GLaDOS with any weapon, power is lost in the entire room. So maybe during the outages someone (The ratman most likely) was fighting her as well.

Just a theroy--69.134.161.133 22:02, June 10, 2010 (UTC)

Separate article about a portal itself?[edit]

Just thinking - separate article about the portal itself (as an object of teleportation) - explaining momentum, unportalable surfaces etc. I know it's included in teleportation article, but there's nothing more described there. Xeoxer 19:01, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

Portal 1 blood removal hack censorship[edit]

I told TCRF this a while ago, but on the Steam Portal version (I even did it for the first version that speedrunners use and is notable for still having model previews in its files directory) (which has lead to weird stuff for HL2 like seeing the synth Combine Elite model in place of the Combine Elite and Odessas' head on a male refugee), when you get shot by the turrets, you don't bleed. As I had this game pirated I always bled, which suggests to me this is a hack by Steam that flips sv_cheats 1 with sv_cheats 0 (for the command that has blood). You can see in the console and Switch edition not having this blood removal, probably because it's not connected to Steam or it's running on some kind of repository thing before that was made. Kinda cowardish. But it's a total mystery to me of what's causing this. You can get blood back in Portal 1 by turning on cheats.

Of course TCRF never adds anything I talked about, and they had more fun playing Discord-tier criticizing games (they're ran by a Discord server, you need a Discord account to even use TCRF), then do something productive, and I bet you're the same, this is why I'm not adding it in the article, you'll probably go "Of what value does this provide?" (it provides everything) and remove it. They're too busy fighting each other to add anything to TCRF.

I had a passionate rant about how I think the HL2 leak directory should be made into different pages because it is different directories (several employees infact) and all I got was someone going "Can we ban this guy?" in TCRF.

I got someone who told me about an unused animation for the mad monkey in Postal 3 seen in the Postal 3 documentary and never added it. You can't make them do anything at all.

Enough of my hate and spite for this world, but it traumatizes me, I can't get it out of my head. I'll never cope with it, it makes me too sad. Bro basically told me to go make a blog. I don't want to create a blog, I want everyone to see what I found or speculate on the wiki man, not some blog in middle of nowhere no one cares for that has no space for anything. You make me sad. I would even say I'm depressed, the pessimism you people have just hurts like a poison, you now put fear in me, I'm too scared to actually edit anything, you'll probably go "Proof?" and that'll be the end.

WehKings (talk) 11:01, 30 August 2026 (UTC)

The blood was always there in Portal and isn't governed by sv_cheats, it's governed by violence_hblood, which isn't cheat-protected. Brief searching on the Web also brings up people asking on Steam how to disable blood, further showing that having it is how the game behaves normally. Since this sounds like some isolated experience, and it's not otherwise noteworthy unlike something like Censored versions of Half-Life, there's no need to add it.
