"Four part plan is this: One: No portal surfaces. Two: Start the neurotoxin immediately. Three: Bomb-proof shields for me. Leading directly into number Four: Bombs. For throwing at you."
Wheatley[src]

The Aperture Science Bomb[1] is a Personality Construct-based bomb created by Aperture Science, introduced in Portal 2.

Overview[edit]

Along with the Military Androids and Sentry Turrets, it is one of the known weapons designed by Aperture. The bombs are delivered via the Pneumatic Diversity Vents and explode on contact with surfaces. They are only in the game for two levels and are never used in any of the Test Chambers. At the end of the game, Wheatley uses them against Chell, which in turn returns them to him through the use of her portals and the Conversion Gel.

Behind the scenes[edit]

The bomb's model is reminiscent of the Emotion Core. Its name is personality_sphere_anger.mdl, and its animation is called "anger." The model itself has a red "eye", reminiscent of the Emotion Core. Its entity name, prop_exploding_futbol, evokes the cut Futbol.

The Portal 2 soundtrack track "Bombs for Throwing at You" is a direct reference to the bomb as introduced by Wheatley in his sentence "Bombs. For throwing at you.".
