Appearances[edit]
Half-Life 2: Episode Two[edit]
MIRT is first encountered when he greets Gordon Freeman and Alyx Vance after they arrive at the base entrance. After greeting them, he asks if he can keep Dog on patrol outside.
Before the Combine launches their main assault on the White Forest rocket silo with a large force of Striders and Hunters, MIRT makes several adjustments to the Muscle Car - adding a rack at the back of the car for holding Magnusson Devices, which Gordon uses to destroy the Striders. He also modifies the car to send a homing signal to Gordon's HEV Suit in case the two become separated. Finally, MIRT modifies the car's radar system to be able to detect Combine forces and Magnusson Device teleports, which send an unlimited amount of devices to the field. Before going out into the field, MIRT explains to Gordon how the modifications he has made work.
During the battle, MIRT remains within the base to watch the field and send Freeman status updates on the Combine advance through megaphones spread around the area. After the battle is won, MIRT is among the celebrating Rebels, and cheers Gordon as he enters.
Behind the scenes[edit]
MIRT's name appears in the Half-Life 2: Episode Two sound file names related to him, the Episode Two subtitles file, his NPC name in the map (as "MIRT"), and The Orange Box Prima Guide.
